First Week (September
6-12)
Brandon Miller, freshmen
Brandon has been an excellent addition to our team. He is a freshmen who is running for the first time. Already he has made a commitment to the team and comes to practice everyday with a positive attitude. He wants to succeed and this is made apparent in his times. He ran a 21:50 at our first meet placing eighth and ensuring a victory over Laurel High School on Friday. He is one of only two freshmen who are on the Varsity squad at this point in the season. This should not be the last you hear of Brandon Miller.
Second Week (September
13-19)
Ben Wynne, junior
As the only Buc to make every practice this season, Wynne reaped the benefits in Saturday’s Lake Forest Inv. scoring his career best time at KPSP with a 20:48.
Third Week (September
20-26)
John Kemp, sophomore
One of the most consistent hard workers on the team, Kemp has steadily climbed to the top. His 20:52 in Thursday’s win over S.Tech put him sixth on the varsity squad.
Fourth Week (September
27-October 3)
Billy Haines, senior
Notables: Haines has been a consistent force as the Bucs’ top runner all season long. This week, he added two more medals to his collection with two top 10 finishes at Salisbury and Sallies.
Fifth Week (October 4-October
10)
Pablo White, freshman
White, aiming to break into the team’s top 10, posted a career week that concluded with a personal best 21:28 at a tough White Clay Creek course at the University of Delaware Invitational.
Sixth Week (October 11-17)
Craig Retzlaff, freshman
Notables: Retzlaff joins a group of freshmen that have steadily improved during the season. Despite a tough race against CR Tuesday, Retzlaff rebounded strong during practice.on
Seventh Week (October
18-24)
Steve Germann, Senior
Notables: Germann set a career
best time of 18:36 leading the Bucs to an
impressive 1-2-3 finish over
Sussex Central and Polytech last Tuesday.
His senior leadership has been
uncanny.
Bobby O'neill, Senior
Notables: O’Neill teamed with
fellow seniors Billy Haines and Steve
Germann to sweep Central and
Poly last week. O’Neill appears focused
after running a season best
18:21.
Eighth Week (October 25-31)
Chris Morton, Freshman
Notables: After running 30 minutes flat in a scrimmage early in the season, Morton has steadily improved. In the regular season finale Tuesday, he ran a career best of 22:57.
Ninth Week (November 1-7)
Kenneth Brown, Junior
Notables: Brown ran a career best 19:53 Monday and then shattered that Saturday with a stunning 19:03 in the conference meet to claim the fifth spot on varsity, his best team finish.
Tenth Week (November 8-14)
Jacob Barr, Freshmen
Notables: Despite missing his
best time in the state meet, Barr’s first year went great. He stepped on
the scene in August and ended as a consistent performer in the top 4 for
the Bucs.
