Girls' Cross Country Team

First Week (September 8-12)
Jessi Rivera, freshmen

Jessi is a second-year runner for the girls team, and already she has secured for herself the number one position on the team.  In the opening meet against Laurel she won the girls' race with a time of 23:34 (minutes in front of the number two runner). She has a very outgoing personality and strongly supports her teammates from both the girls' and boys' teams.  Could she be the next Melody Rudd? Only time will tell.

Second Week (September 13-19)
Alicia Robinson, sophomore

Continuing to make a commitment to the squad, Robinson moved into the second spot on the varsity with a career best 24:40 in Saturday’s Lake Forest Invitational.

Third Week (September 20-26)
Heather Rudd, junior

Rudd, the veteran team captain, shrugged off a disappointing start and continues to trim time. She made certain her importance as the No. 2 runner with a 23:38 Thursday.

Fourth Week (September 27-October 3)
Jessica Rivera, sophomore

Rivera has continued to improve steadily all season long. At
Thursday’s Salisbury Inv., she reached another career best with a 22:21 to place 20th and move up to 11th on Milford’s all-time list.

Fifth Week (October 4-October 10)
Jessica Rivera, sophomore

Rivera put together her strongest week of the season with three excellent races, including a career best 21:39 that moved her to fifth on Milford’s all-time list. She placed in the top 25 at the University of Delaware Invitational.

Sixth Week (October 11-17)
Christina Dayton, junior

Dayton has made up her mind to do well and earned a personal
best 30:17 against CR. She also achieved her goal time during time trials Friday and is focused for a strong season finish.

Seventh Week (October 18-24)
Amanda Schatz, sophomore

Notables: Needing a strong run to defeat Central Tuesday, Schatz shaved
well over a minute off a previous best to establish a career time of 23:59 as the Bucs won 27-28.

Eighth Week (October 25-31)
Heather Rudd, Junior

Notables: Rudd, the team captain, has battled all season long and continued to show her tough spirit by sprinting past an opponent at the finish in Tuesday’s season finale.

Ninth Week (November 1-7)

Notables: In only her first season, Williams made tremendous strides as an important force for the girls. She finished the state meet as the fourth girl on the team Saturday.
